Re-finding a Voice: Building an Agenda for Research in Architecture

Architectural research is constitutively different in an age of open systems. There are important epistemological and methodological considerations that are critical to grasp in the context of open, rather than closed or isolated, systems. By open systems I refer to the strict thermodynamic definition as well as more generally to the ways in which architecture is inherently open to political, ecological, historical, and social contingencies.
