Modern Construction Case Studies

In 2001, Andrew Watts published the Modern Construction Handbook. Featuring construction assemblies found in notable contemporary architectural work, the book curated actualized construction assemblies through a series of 2D orthographic drawings, 3D representations, and photographs that together provide the reader with technical information. The level of documentation within the Handbook is useful, as it shares material assemblies graphically rather than through photographs alone. This compendium was more specific than other resources available at the time, while offering a greater variety of assemblies beyond the wall sections often found in architectural publications…
